Breasts and “Free the Nipple” Movement

Ve

As a spin off to the “New Wave Feminism” post and the Free the Nipple movement I was wondering a few things;

A part of the Free the Nipple movement is to push back on the sexualization of breasts.

The debatable part of this is multilayered

1. Aside from breastfeeding, why do you (or the movement) think that breasts are not sexual?

2. It is theorized that men are hard wired to be attracted to breasts for finding a mate and ultimately for procreation. How are heterosexual men supposed to shut off a hard wired, instinctual attraction?

3. How is society supposed to stop sexualizing breasts in their entirety if we as women sexualize our own breasts and support industries that make money by sexualizing breast (i.e. porn industry, lingerie industry, clothing and so, on)?

Im curious what everyones take on this movement is and if you truly believe breasts can be desexualized?

Do we as women have a responsibility to also no sexualize breasts if we in fact do not want our breasts sexualized?

Is it fair to push a movement in regards to the female body, if the female population is not in full support of it? If their lack of support actually is counter productive by continuing to use and present their breasts sexually?

*****Edit / Additional question. Which cultures have adopted topless women on a regular basis as the norm? (Aside from tribal culture that does not have access to the rest of the world or technology.)
