How old were you when you lost your virginity?

I’m 19 and I’m a virgin. I just wanted to have sex with someone I was dating, not a hookup. I didn’t date in school so I could focus on the work. Then I just never had a real relationship, I talked but it didn’t go anywhere. Lately it seems like guys get scared when they find out I’m a virgin. Like I didn’t think it was a big deal. One guy apologized and I’m thinking “why are you apologizing?”

14 and still with him MANY years later and still don't regret it. I am very lucky. Before you freak out about the age I want to point out that I mentally and sexually matured quite young and my decision was from a good healthy place and it was really great. I know many don't get experiences like mine though, so I don't want to sound like I'm recommending have sex so young. I just want to say that if YOU are ready and are doing it for the right reasons, are safe and prepared (and it isn't a spur of the moment rash decision) then what you do with your body is up to you. And if any virgins are reading this, I hope yours is wonderful too.

I have a friend and coworker who is 23 and a virgin and I was so surprised and honestly jealous of her when she told me. I think it’s honestly best to wait until you know you’re absolutely ready. That choice was taken away from me as a freshman in college at 18, so I encourage waiting as long as you can and until it’s right for YOU no matter what age you are. And now that I’m like in love and with someone I trust, I wish my first time was with him. It’s just way better when you’re with someone you know you can be comfortable and confident with and who is like that with you too.

I was 19 and I waited to do it, & I did it with my bf and he waited until I was ready and safe (got on birth control) but he didn’t get scared away when he found out I was Virgin because he was a Virgin too

I was 16 and regret it. I ended up pregnant at 17 but had a still birth. He ended up becoming so emotionally abusive, even while pregnant. He would tell me things like "if this baby comes out black I'm going to pour bleach in your vagina so you never have anymore kids." Or "no one will ever love me with this kid." Took me until I graduated high school to realize I needed to get out. To this day, I wish I would have waited to have sex.

I was 15. I know a lot of people I know don’t want to be responsible for taking someone’s virginity because a lot of people (not all) tend to get kinda clingy after. The guy i lost mine to did and I was 100% turned off so it was a very messy break up. The right guy won’t mind and it’ll be worth the wait.

I think maybe because to some people your first time should be special but everyone has their own like meaning to it(?) some want it to be special and others want to get through it. I dunno that’s what I think
