I only paid 21$ for the marriage license. The pastor at a church did it for free. It was only my husband and I. We were trying to get married since October 27th 2017, but there was no JP that had a judge there at the courthouse to make it happen and they don't have a judge at the courthouse 24/7. So, on my birthday, my husband got up, went to the church and the pastor said he would do it. October 31st 2017 we got married.

About 1200 total! Got a discount at the venue because I worked there, plus free catering by the grill that I worked at which was a golf course, wore my sister's dress and then maybe everything else was 200, meaning decor and what not.

My first wedding was $5,000 including a 5 day cruise.
My second wedding which will be next year, we will probably be spending about the same, without the honeymoon. I don't like big flashy things and neither does my fiancé. We're doing a beach wedding ($2,000 that includes the officiant, all the decor and a photographer) and the reception is just in a nice little hall that will be about a grand, including catered food, and our DJ, and we're doing a cash bar. Then there's bridal party gifts, flowers (which are going to be like $300), whatever decor we want for the reception, and any other expenditures we forgot about.

I've been married twice. The first time I paid no more than 5000 for everything. We got married in my home town.  The second time I got married and we went to Vegas and it ended up being over 5000 after everything was said and done. We could have saved money in Vegas had we not had a nice ceremony and stayed at a nice hotel but chose those things as money wasnt a big deal or game changer.
