What age did you potty train your son

So I’ve heard from everyone and even noticed on the app people tend to potty train boys later than girls in fact everyone I know says boys are harder to potty train my son is 16 almost 17 months old and every time he is diaper free it’s like he feels the urge to poop and he pulls at his diapers if they are dirty and always likes to help flush the toilet when I go to the restroom are these signs or should I forget it and wait until he’s at least two I don’t want to push him and I’m in no rush but if he’s ready I also don’t want to hold him back ya know oh he also has even taken off his diaper a few times wanted to add that
