Hysteroscopy? Put on pill before surgery?

Question

Anyone else have to have a hysteroscopy done to remove polyps from your uterus? How long did recovery take after the surgery? Did your doctor put you on birth control pills leading up to the surgery? If so how long until you got your period again? Thanks 💖

I had a hysteroscopy two weeks ago and was put on a mini pill for only a couple of weeks. I was fine when I left-just light bleeding. I had very minimal cramping and I spotted old blood for a week and then got my real period (confirmed by my fertility dr) 10 days after the day of my hysteroscopy.

I was put on BC for 2 months prior, only active pills though because they didn't want me to have a period before hand. It took me about 4 weeks to fully recover ( they had to drain my fallopian tubes too and I ripped some stitches)

I had one back in march and wasn't on BC but told not to have sex a few days before. I'm about to have another one and am on BC this time as I'm in the middle of IVF and hoping to do transfer soon after this. My RE said just to stay on BC because it helps them control my cycle and makes it easier to schedule surgery and everything.

I just had one last Friday. I wasn’t on bc before or after it and was told my period should come in a week or 2. Doctor is going to start transfer cycle when it starts. I’m sooo excited!! I also had a lscope and ERA done.

I had three polyps and some scar tissue removed and wasn’t put on birth control. My doctor had me wait till after my next period till we could try.

I've had it done , I believe it took 3 months before we could start trying again ,but I had alot of polyps and some pre cancer cells.. they never put me on birth control though

I was put on the pill for just under a month before surgery. Recovery was painfully slow for me, but I had several procedures at once... one of which ended up being the removal of a tube. A month of pretty decent pain if I did anything at all (go for a ride in the car, sweep the floor...), and the second month I could resume normal activities except for working out. My period is always, always on time and post surgery was no exception, unfortunately. I had really hoped for a break! Good luck with your procedure. Wishing you a speedy recovery!
