My boyfriend seems unexcited about our baby?

Question

I’m 11w6d along and I can’t help but feel like my boyfriend (of 6 years) is not excited that I’m pregnant. I will say that I’m type 1 diabetic and I did not plan this pregnancy so he’s a bit worried about me and that may have a lot to do with it, but still. He hasn’t expressed any amount of joy at all. Do you think I’m overreacting? Also any advice on getting him a tad more...excited? Any advice would be great. Thanks.

It’s totally normal for a lot of men as they’re not really experiencing pregnancy it doesn’t really seem real! My husband didn’t really show any emotion when I was pregnant with my first until he was born and turned into a different man. And is the best father anyone could ask for

I’m so sorry you feel this way. I remember when I got pregnant with my son in 2016 (not on birth control, but it was unexpected) my husband showed no reaction for the first trimester. I remember when I told him he was just in total shock for a week and really didn’t talk about it. My husband doesn’t really show emotions, but he does like to talk things out. 
After we had our 12 week first trimester screening and he saw the baby, he was so excited and finally started to share his feelings and excitement. I asked him what changed and he said it never seemed real until he saw our baby on the screen. 
We are having our second baby, and he was different this time, but it took us a year and a miscarriage to conceive. We have had 2 ultrasounds, and each time he gets more excited because we lost our second pregnancy at 9 weeks. 
Not sure if that helps, but I felt that way too. Hopefully you two can talk things out to where you both understand each other. Hope you have a healthy and happy pregnancy!

Have you spoken to him about this at all? I found with my husband that speaking up and asking for his input and thoughts really helped him come out of his shell and show more emotion about the whole situation.

😂 my husband seemed hardly excited at all and was barely even phased by my two day long labor but as soon as he saw our sweet girl he was completely frozen with tears running down his face.
