Dnc for FET?

Hi. We’ve had one successful fresh IVF and one failed FeT last month. My dr said I can have a DNC to clean out my uterus and that can help with implantation.  I’m very hesitant to have this done for no medical reason even though he thinks it can improve chances for implantation. Has anyone else done this or heard of this? Feeling nervous about it. Thanks.

I ended up with Asherman’s Syndrome after my DnC for a missed miscarriage. I wouldn’t risk it unless you really need it. Wish I’d never gotten it done and let nature take its course instead

Part of me says trust your doctor but another part thinks don’t have unnecessary medical procedure. I had to have two D&Cs for missed miscarriages that were not coming out of their own. I read a lot about possible scarring after this procedure and it freaked me out. If you look it up there is a big risk and the more of them you have the greater the risk. Just ask lots of questions and make sure you’re comfortable before moving forward. Good luck!

I just had a polyp removed that was found before I started my FET cycle and they did a d&c as well. From what my doctor said, it's really just "roughing up the uterine lining" and not a complete d&c when you're doing an FET. Apparently doing this is known to build up a healthier and stickier lining.

I did read there were some risks. Which is very worrisome to me since they assured me there weren’t any serious risks to worry with. The reasoning is that it cleans out the uterus and then I would start the meds to build up the lining. Like a fresh slate to start on. But I can’t find very much information about it. Not enough to warrant doing it. I’m considering cancelling the procedure. Thank you for your responses!

I’m curious how that would help implantation. Usually there needs to be a fluffy and decent amount of tissue for the baby to implant on - and having a D&C removes all that. 
I don’t know much about its use in this scenario, maybe ask your doc if you have questions.
