With contractions does your tummy always go hard like with BH? I should know this is my second but I can’t remember lol. Can contractions just be pain?

I finally know what contractions feel like thanks to my NST. My stomach goes rock hard, then I get sharp and painful cramping all over my stomach and in my back.

With my first, I never had BH and never felt the hardening while in labor, just bad period cramps. This go around I am getting lots of BH and definitely feel the hardening.
