I had the Copper IUD inserted 5-6 weeks ago (8th of November). I spotted for two days and then had a 'period' a few days after insertion, but I think that was just a withdrawal bleed from stopping the pill.

On the Monday the 10th of December, I began spotting until Wednesday where I began properly bleeding. Every day since Wednesday I have had extremely heavy bleeding and cramping. I know this is expected with the copper IUD. I just have no feeling for how long my period is likely to last. Naturally (no birth control), I would have 2 medium flow days of bleeding before things lighten up over 4 days, compared to now where I've had 4 days of very heavy bleeding and no sign of it slowing down. At times I have had to empty my menstrual cup hourly, and sometimes it leaks.

Also, I have been feeling like my cervix feels sore. I wonder if it's possible my cup has been irritating my cervix.
