So let me start out by saying that I was was raped and molested growing up so physicals and gynecologist appointments make me incredibly anxious(to the point of almost having an anxiety attack).

I have an appointment for Dec. 24 to discuss birth control and possibly have an IUD placed if I decide its right for me. The thing is, I’m anxious about doing this alone, especially because of them being all up in there and feeling exposed.

I’ve heard about the pain and people passing out and I’m so scared.

I’m 21 and he’s 23 and doesn’t have a problem going with me(he’s the only person in my life that I feel completely safe with).

Does anyone know if the doctor would have a problem with me bringing him in the exam room? He would stay at the head of the bed and everything. I just really need him there😣. Im going to call at some point this coming week to discuss it with them, but I wanted to know ahead of time if I have rights as a patient to bring him with me.

Also if anyone could give tips for the IUD insertion. I was leaning towards the copper, but the more I’ve read about it, the more I’m considering Mirena.
