strings??

so I have the copper iud and I think my strings feel longer now than they did when I had my it inserted in october but im not completely positive, I have cramps sometimes but it’s not too bad. i’ve moved states since I had my iud inserted so im no where near a planned parenthood anymore and I don’t have health insurance in this state yet so i’m not sure what I should do. help pls??

I had this problem, I noticed it a week after insertion. I thought it was expelling. I went to get it checked and the nurse said it was definitely in place, and the strings just needed trimming a bit. I still feel like my strings need trimming more though.

I had the same thing, if you aren’t feeling pain I think the IUD is just settling into place. I had the strings trimmed and everything was fine. Maybe call the original doctor and ask if you’re nervous?

The uterus moves up and down depending on the cycle. So it make seem like the strings may be longer or shorter depending on what day of the cycle it is. I would go see a doctor if you have really bad cramps that are very close together!!
