How do I approach telling the parent that this is NOT ok? Or should I leave it alone?

This kid is 2 and his car seat is clearly in the front seat... I used to work with the mom years ago and don’t know her super well, I met the dad before her but only twice.
How would you recommend telling her/the dad that this is very unsafe? Would you?

That's clearly a pick up truck.. and by the looks of it the cab probably isn't  big enough to get the car seat in the back. Most people aren't going to Knowingly put their child's car seat in the front regardless of how ignorant they may be too child seat safety.. and even then those people have their own ideas made up about car seats and have no desire to hear you or anyone else tell them how to take care of their child.. and are probably on this app bitching about how some woman they barely know sent them a message about the picture of their child and tried to tell them how wrong they are.

Nicely send a message.. maybe say “I’m not judging you at all but having the car seat like that is very dangerous.. I don’t know the situation behind the photo but I just wanted to reach out just in case” 
A few years ago a woman in my area lost her baby in an accident and after the fact someone told her that they knew the baby wasn’t correctly strapped in from a picture she posted but was to afraid to say anything.. the mother said she wished someone said something as it would have saved the babies life..

I just think you need to stop taking other people pictures of there children and stop sticking your nose in we’re it’s not wanted, instead of screen shorting her picture why didn’t you just tell her instead of coming on here talking about her. Like lots of people have said it could be a truck and is legal, I’m not being horrible or saying it in a mean way I’m just saying get your fates right before getting yourself involved.

If it’s a pickup that has a top tether and the air bag off, then it’s safe for the child to ride that way. If not, then it’s an issue. You could ask if the airbag was off and if the seat was using the top tether and see what they say?

Unless it’s a pickup truck, in which case the front seat is the only seat, then yes you should say something. It’s illegal I’m fairly certain and very unsafe

Lol, dental hygienist here and I literally didn't know what was wrong with the picture... I thought it was the horrific red colored juice that is probably rotting that kids teeth away 😆 Anyways, yeah I would find out why he's in the front in the first place. Maybe it was only for a short period. I put my daughter in the front seat before we go through the car wash! I've gotten some funny looks when we're finished and I take her out of the front and put her in the back again! It's literally for two minutes, but the people vacuuming their cars next to me don't know that.

I personally would ask her first why he’s in the front seat but I’m just that type of person. It could be the seat belts in the back don’t work or something like that but if it’s non of those reasons I’d warn her that if she doesn’t change it that moment I’ll would have to let law enforcement know she was endangering her child’s life
