I am just curious how do you go about hooking up with someone safely? If you’re looking for a hookup on an app for example do you talk about stds before you meet up? Would anyone not use a condom if on bc? Curious on everyone’s take and opinions

Yes, definitely ask about stds. Definitely use a condom. It doesn’t matter if you’re on birth control, it’s better to be safe then sorry.

Technically there’s no such thing as a “safe” hookup. People lie everyday about themselves (psychopaths), not know/lie about STD’s they may or may not have, condoms break, BC fails, etc..
So if you’re looking for “safe”, your best bet would be to avoid it altogether, honestly. 🤷‍♀️ The only precautions you could take though would be to use condoms, but as someone else stated, those don’t even fully protect you from STD’s. It’s basically a gamble, all the way around.

Definitely would use a condom for a hook up but just know a condom doesnt stop the transmit of hpv and herpes.
You can ask them to go get a 10 panel std test with trichomoniasis and you do the same. But for a hook up most guys wont go all out for that and theyd rather lie "I'm clean" also if they just slept with somebody recently the hsv test wont be accurate.
