SOS, need advice

Hey y’all, so I’m in a complicated situation and I’m not sure what to do about it. So my mans and I have been seeing each other a little over a year now and until around summertime it’s been on and off but we’ve stayed friends through the rough patches. He is deployed currently and although we don’t officially have a title, we do love each other. He told me he didn’t want to put a label on us before he leaves because he “didn’t want to do that to me” but I’m feeling a little sketched out by it? Should I be worried?
