Parent shamers

So the other day my daughter my husband and I were running Christmas errands. We were kind of out n about all day after lunch time. Periodically through the day I was giving our 18 month old fruit, cheese, those purée pouches with veggies etc. By the time we were done running our errands hubby and I were starving so we popped into a wendies. Our daughter wasn’t all that hungry from all her snacking but she did eat a couple French fries. No big deal as it’s not like she eats French fries all the time. Anyway these two girls sitting two tables over points to us and says “wow they’re such irresponsible parents letting their baby eat fries” My husband then said to me “it’s funny how people think we just feed our kid French fries” to which I replied “I don’t really care what people think” and laughed it off.

What I don’t understand is why people go out of their way to parent shame 🤦🏻‍♀️ I feel like people who put others down like that just need to feel better about themselves I guess 🤷🏻‍♀️
