ATTENTION: Moms of 2 yr olds
I am 37 weeks pregnant and my daughter is 2 yrs 2 months and we are at a TERRIBLE TANTRUM STAGE. I just need momma’s of kids around the same age to tell me I’m not alone 😢
My daughter is sweet. She is a good girl. She isn’t too wild or rambunctious and she loves to kiss and cuddle. Having said that, she is extremely particular and the tantrums have been getting out of hand. Her favourite thing to say is “No I can do it” when 9/10 times she can’t do it. This results in me waiting for her to “do it” until I try to help her and boom: tantrum. Blowing her nose, cleaning her face, turning off her show, GETTING HER DRESSED. Everything is a tantrum.
Is this normal 2 yr old behaviour? Because I feel like moms don’t talk about this stuff?? I mention it to my sister-in-laws who both have 2 yr olds and they just shrug it off and say “oh ya it’s just the terrible 2’s” like it’s nothing. Well, it’s something to me and I refuse to just let it happen over and over. It’s driving me crazy - and at 9 months pregnant I’m at my whits end. I’ve read books like “peaceful parent, happy kids” which are great and all but I still believe in disciplining your children when necessary.
How do you discipline your two year old and how do you deal with tantrums momma’s?
And do not tell me that “age 3 is even harder” because I refuse to believe that. At 3 you can have conversations with them and they can communicate. I’ve seen the difference between 2 & 3 and can’t wait for my girl to get there.
Thanks in advance!!!
