BV???

Question

Okay, so I’ve been seeing a lot of posts here about bacterial vaginosis and it’s freaking me out 😭if I do have BV would my OB only be able to test if I let him know or do they check at every visit with urine? 
I’ve heard that there’s barely any symptoms aside from a stench. 
I haven’t noticed any sort of stench but it just makes me nervous 🤦🏼‍♀️

There are different types of BV from what I learned searching it.
Sometimes you get it because you have an irritation. In which case it will leave on its own
Sometimes it needs treating cause its a little infection. Think you just get a special cream and it goes away.
Can’t remember much else but I wouldn’t panic about it. Just get checked and see if you need treatment. It doesn’t hurt to test its a little cotton swab.

I thought I had it, due to smell. Not even a bad smell just stronger I guess? (Sorry TMI!) so I called the doctors. They wanted me to come in, they did a swab and told me they thought right off the bat I didn’t have it. (Thanks super pregnancy sense of smell 🙄 lol) but regardless they were glad I called and came in. It can cause preterm labor so they said better safe than sorry, and I have had it before!

Doctors don’t use urine to check for BV. They use a swab. I just had it 5 weeks ago and had no idea I even had it in the first place. There are several symptoms that can happen though so it’s worth looking up though.

I had it four times with my daughter and had no symptoms 🙃 with my son, I noticed something changed and immediately asked to be checked since I'm prone to it while pregnant and sure enough, I was right. I guess they'd say I had symptoms with my second pregnancy (a stronger snell, itchiness, super discharge) but all of those things seem to just be normal for me so it was such a minor change. If you are concerned, ask. It can't hurt to be tested.
