IUD INSERTION?!!

I’ve talked to my doctor and we decided the Kyleena IUD is the best choice for me. I start my period I’m 6 days and am scheduled to have the IUD inserted. 
My questions are what is the pain level like? What should I expect and prepare myself for ?? Please share stories below!

I have the copper iud. It pinches like a mother fucker. But im a fighter. As soon as it’s over the only thing you have to worry about is cramps. But you should get ibuprofen for that. After getting used to it I love it. No hormones. No babies. Life’s gr8

I got the Mirena so I’ll if what I went through will be the same as you but personally the insertion isn’t that bad. The measuring before it was put in was painful though. Afterwards I had awful cramps and bled heavily for a month straight. Then I got a bacterial infection due to them putting it in. 🤦🏾‍♀️ I went through a lot of bull sh*t. I got it back in March and I’ve been pretty much ok. It just takes a while for your body to get adjusted. Everyone’s body is different and you might not feel anything 🤷🏾‍♀️ This is just my story.

Its the least painful while you are on your cycle because your cervix is open already and they can easily place it. I had to be dilated and that was a bitch!
Anyway, take tylenol 20mins before your appointment and then go straight home and use a heating pad.

Congrats dude! I got the Kyleena IUD about 6 months ago and I love it. My periods now are just the tiniest bit of brown spotting and they usually last for 1-2 days. The last two months I didn't even realize it was my period until after the ended 😂 So, when it was inserted, it didn't feel great. There was definitely pain, but like a 6 (7 at the most for like a second) on a 1-10 scale. It was like a pinching feeling in a place I'd never felt pain before, but it was totally bearable. My head didn't get dizzy or anything (idk if that helps you gauge the pain). I was shouting my head of (because I'm a baby) and that kind of helped with the pain - probably because it made me breathe more. My doctor said that everyone shouts like that, so let it rip! Mine was funny because, I curse, but when I'm in pain I always start saying stuff like "freaking heck" and "jeez louise", idk why, and my doctor said I was the most well behaved patient she had, lol. The pain lasted for maybe 5 minutes. I was sore afterwards and it made sitting difficult. I had to wait in the waiting room afterwards so they could do an internal ultrasound to make sure the insert was in the right place. I was just standing in the waiting room for 30 minutes like a weirdo, but hey I wasn't in pain. The soreness went away in about 3 days but there was a lot of bleeding, heavier than my normal flow. That lasted for maybe a week? Maybe two.. Just stock up on pads or tampons (I didn't want to stick anything up there afterwards). Since then, everything's been wonderful. Hope that helps!
