Do cartilage piercings hurt

Question

I already have two piercings on my lobes and I was thinking about getting a helix piercing 
Some people say it hurts a lot because it’s piercing the bone? others say it’s fine 
I was wondering if it actually really hurts and how long it takes to heal

Yes it hurts.... And the cartilage takes longer than lobes to heal. For me personally, they take over a year to completely heal. Go to a reputable piercer (one that uses needles not guns) and they’ll be able to tell you anything/everything you need to know!

Honestly it's over before you have time to think about it. Daith piercings on the other hand..... worst pain ever (and I've had tongue, cartilage, nose, belly button).

If you go somewhere with a good reputation and they do it with a needle and not the gun it doesn't hurt at all to get it done. However, it does hurt after for awhile until it heals.

Healing all depends on the person, same as how much it hurts . For me didn’t hurt one bit. And it’s piercing cartilage, not bone .🤦🏻‍♀️ you cant pierce bone . But I also suggest going to a tattoo/piercing shop to get it done because at a place like Pagoda and Claire’s(terrible) they use piercing guns which do damage to your ears and can shatter cartilage.

It depends on the thickness of your cartilage. If its thick it'll hurt if its not, you'll be fine. It hurts more when you have to clean and rotate it. Also if it did hurt I couldn't show it because some lady had her child watching me to prove that getting your ears pierced doesn't hurt.

it can depend where you’re piercing for ur helix piercing. my twin got two helixes done, one in the middle n then one above it. the middle one she said hurt more but they were both painful. i got one done near the top n it hurt as much as a lobe. u just have to see how painful it can be since everyone have diff pain levels. it’s fast so if it does hurt a lot it’ll be over quickly. i recommend getting it on the side u don’t lie on cus accidentally lying on it hurts like a bitch. i ended up lying on mine too much n had to take it out 😅

I guess I answered wrong I said it didn't but I was thinking of the actual piercing. Healing hurt if it got pulled or I slept on it. I have an industrial bar.

Mine got infected and it was terrible. I agree the healing time is worse than the pierce itself. I couldn’t sleep on it. I think I only had it for around 3 weeks before I had to take it out. Will eventually try again at a professional piercer this time!

mine hurt a lot becuz the guy i went to (a tattoo place) had the needle in but then it came out so he had to redo it 🙃🙃🙃 it hurt like a mothatrucker i had my arms crossed and my bf tried holding my hand i was like dont touch me. well yeah that was two years ago.. and its still in the process of healing.. it bled multiple times. i had a small keloid scar but it went away. sometimes it comes back and then disappears so idk.
