Anyone else’s kid hate the potty?

Right around 2 I thought we were on the right track to start potty training but it never went anywhere. She HATES sitting on the potty and hates when I leave her diaper off. I’ve tried everything to get her interested I can think of. She’s not interested. She gets PISSED and will actually hold it if I take her diaper off and leave it off. She will not tell me if he’s peed or pooped in her diaper, even if I ask her. I’m 24 weeks pregnant and I would be thrilled to not have two in diapers but it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen. 😅
Anyone else in a similar situation or is your kid potty trained??

Try reading the potty training book “oh crap”. That worked for us. My daughter was very resistant. If diapers are an option she’ll keep wanting them so sometimes you have to go cold turkey. I potty trained mine at 28 months. She’s 30 months now and we’ve moved onto night time training. I’m due Jan 30 so I hear ya!

We are almost potty trained but my daughter went thru this. One day I just stopped putting diapers on her and told her she had to use the potty now. We went naked around the house for a few days till she started going in potty. Lots of messes 🤦‍♀️ Now she wears underwear except for nighttime. We still have accidents but mostly when she can’t get there quick enough bc she’s playing. But whenever she says she “can’t” use the potty. We tell her that’s what big girls do and she has to. It worked for us when we don’t give her an option like before we leave or get somewhere new. We try to go every hour.

I’d try naked or just pants too and handle the messes. My experience was my daughter had a huge regression when my son was born and she was almost potty trained. Don’t kill yourself trying to potty train before baby because it’s hard when the second one comes along and if everything goes out the window you might be super stressed. I read this exact comment from someone online about not worrying about potty training before the new baby arrives and I laughed and said that won’t happen to me I’ll try my best! Nope, and I went through a lot when I was pregnant worrying about it.

Exactly the same. If he's trying to go in his diaper, I'll ask if he wants to go on the potty and he screams "NO!" and runs away. I'm waiting until after Christmas but then I think I'm just going to do the whole just underwear deal and clean up a lot. But he sits on the potty fully clothed for fun. The second he's naked he will not sit on it 😒

My 2.5 year old he screams like he’s hurt or dying so we haven’t pushed it. He’s started telling us when he needs a diaper change but he’s just not ready for the rest

I wish I could get him potty trained! I had twins in July so 3 in diapers is a lot to handle. He has no interest in telling me when he pees, but if I leave him naked he will use the potty to pee (most of the time... sometimes he uses the floor 🤦‍♀️). Now poop is another story, he’s always been a holder and hates to poop. When he has to go he runs in a corner and holds it in. He will scream ‘no potty!!’  So at this point I’m not pushing it, I really hope in a few months he will come around.

I'm glad my kid isn't the exception here. I tried to potty train my guy in the summer when he turned 2 but he freaked right out. He did pee on the potty and he cried. He wouldn't play the entire time. He just sat on the potty. It really stressed him out. I wanted him trained before his baby sister came but that didn't happen. I think I'll try after Christmas or in the new year. I've been telling him that he's going to stop wearing diapers soon and will wear big boy underwear and will go pee and poo on the potty. I'm hoping he'll do better soon.
