Why is my dr doing a fallopian tub X-ray before ivf?

I have pcos and the only option now is ivf. When the dr office called about doing the X-ray on cd 12 I ask why and the lady said she would have to call me back to explain because they were very busy. I haven’t had a call yet 🤷🏼‍♀️ so anyway I thought the whole point of ivf is completely passing the Fallopian tube area?

Are you referring to an HSG test? If so I'm pretty sure it's a standard part of your pre-IVF work up.

It’s a standard test in the fertility workup. Give the doctor a clearer picture of what you are working with.  Shape and structure of uterus amongst other things.

Standard test. They check the shape and size of your uterus as well as if they’re any blockages in your Fallopian tubes.
