I need some help understanding what’s up with my body. I had sex on 12/7. It was the last day of my period but I was not bleeding. The condom broke, so I went the next morning and got Plan B. About a week later on Thursday, 12/13, I started noticing a thick, brown discharge. This kept up for about 3 days, slowly turning into regular bleeding and then disappearing on Sunday, 12/16.

I assumed this was from the huge dose of hormones you get with Plan B and was my body’s way of resetting itself. To make matters worse, I had surgery on 12/14. Not only was I extremely nervous and my blood pressure through the rough, I had to start taking all sorts of medication, including a very strong opioid. So my body has just been out of whack entirely the past week.

Which brings us to this morning. I woke up and found I am bleeding again. This time it is dark red, like what you would expect on the first few days of your period. Did I start my period early because of the pill? I also have some of what I think of as ovulation discharge - sort of clear, stretchy discharge.

Is this normal for Plan B? I don’t have any other Plan B or pregnancy symptoms that I can tell (other than fatigue and slight dizziness but I assume that’s from the narcotic I’m on for my surgery recovery). Just wondering if anyone else has experienced anything similar. Thank you!
