Sippy cup for 5 months old?

My son just turned 5 months old today. I have been giving him oatmeal cereal once a day upon his pediatrician recommendation. His pedi says we need to give him same food for seven days and than we can switch to different food. He is formula fed since birth. I want to start him using sippy cup. I need recommendations which sippy cup is great for starters or learners?

At 5 months, he's not going to understand the concept of a straw or a 360 cup. You want to start with something like a Nuby transitional cup with a nipple attachment. it will be the most natural transition for him. From there, you can introduce regular sippy cups with spouts followed by straws and 360 cups. Ideally, you want him off the bottle by 12 months and onto straws and 360 cups by 18 months.

Im so glad I'm not the only one that's started their 5 month old in a sippy. He's using a soft spout nuby 3 stage cup and a nuk trainer cup and loves them both.

I’d do one without a spout because they’re better for oral development. We’re using 360 cups and straw cups. My daughter prefers the 360 ones
