My mom is so excited for her first grandchild, but she doesn’t understand that I personally won’t be parenting the way she did—because quiet frankly she was not a loving parent but rather a nurturer (but that’s a story for another day). She got so angry with me when I shut down her constant nagging over having the crib in our bedroom. I told her that my idea is to have the bassinet in our bedroom, and then when old enough move the baby to his nursery. Might as well let the fire run loose cause I got an earful on how that’s not going to benefit the baby or me. And I am just like “mom, lets chill. I am sure baby will be fine.”
