Is this mega-cradle cap...?

My son is 6 weeks old. I noticed his scalp is getting dry flaky skin but it’s getting thicker. Tonight in his bath, I used the soft hospital brush to get some of the dry skin off but there’s just so much. It’s making the rest of his hair goopy. He normally has very soft thick dark brown hair but the top of his head is losing all his hair...im trying to get into the doctor tomorrow but I want to know if anyone else has had this problem. Any thoughts?
