IUD and sex?

Hi ladies! I’m getting the IUD the first week of January and have an appointment to get my strings checked on January 30. I don’t know anyone who has an IUD, so all of my questions end up on here😅 Anyways, my boyfriend and I have a trip planned a couple days before I get my strings checked and I was wondering if it’s okay to have sex before getting them checked? I’m not sure how long to wait to have sex after insertion and I’m not sure if having my strings checked has anything to do with it so I’m just wondering 😅 Thanks!
