Does the fear ever go away?

Question

I’m 11 weeks today after 3 IVF rounds, 5 transfers, two chemical pregnancies, and one miscarriage. So far all looking good and have my fourth ultrasound today just to make sure all is ok before we tell our families on Christmas. And literally, I am so confidently expecting terrible news that already drafting emails in my head to cancel my meetings tomorrow and wondering how I will schedule a D&C before Christmas. Does this fear ever go away?

Nope. I am 23weeks 3days and I still feel that way every time I go to the doctor

I am 12 weeks 6 days and I worry all the time. I feel like when i can feel the baby move all the time that will help. This is my rainbow baby after an ectopic in June. I have not been thru everything you have. I admire your strength. I have had a road filled  with loss and happiness. I pray this will go away for us and we can start to enjoy without fear

Not really. It abates with future pregnancies if everything goes well though. My first baby didn't even get a nursery until 7 months because I just couldn't commit. Your feelings are very normal.

11 weeks 5 days and I can't fully shake the fear. I have my next OB appt a week from tomorrow and have a loooong list of questions for her.

Honestly, I don’t think it does. Even with my first pregnancy before I dealt with any infertility issue I was scared up until I gave birth. It’s a normal mother’s love for her child. Add to that all the issues of infertility. I go for my first beta today and I’m petrified. I’ve taken about a million tests already and all are positive.

I think my fear has subsided to a relatively normal pregnancy level now. I'm 20 weeks and have felt the baby moving for the last three. Having a constant reminder there is something in there really helps. That is until you get a couple of quiet days... Like I did over Xmas. But genuinely I have felt much less anxious since having movement. I even bought a pram yesterday which was a very big deal for me. You'll get there 😊

No it doesn’t. I had an ectopic on round #2 for trying for baby #2 which resulted in an emergency surgery and loosing both tubes and an ovary. I think I suffered ptsd from it and after switching to another clinic we tried round 3.. it worked and we now have a 8 week old boy.... it was the hardest pregnancy to go through. I had sever anxiety and was always scared about something. It eased up a little once I could feel him move around, but even then each ultrasound I would fear and each apt. I would dread. I’m so thankful that he’s here, but It was a long road. I waited until about 15 weeks until we told our family and almost 20 when we told some friends. I announced it on social media at 33 weeks.
The love you will feel for your little one once they are here is incredible. I know everyone loves their baby, but for what we go through to conceive I think makes our little ones that much more special. You’ll know what I mean once your little one is here. Congratulations and I hope you at least get to enjoy some of your pregnancy.

Unfortunately the fear will be there and you will battle with it for a long time even after the baby is born, I was scared when I was pregnant but I decided to stop letting the fear take over me and I redirected my thoughts and prayers to instead of think what could be wrong I would think what can go right I decided to enjoy my pregnancy even if it was just going to be for a few months and after the baby was born I kept fighting the fear away since i just thought something was going to go wrong and I would lose my baby to SIDS I used to stay awake a night and things changed after she turned one year I became more relaxed now I am pregnant again 15 weeks and since I am so busy with my toddler it’s hard to think about it but I still have a little fear in me. I will pray for you!!! Don’t let the fear keep you from enjoying your pregnancy ❤️🙏🏻

No I think it’s just part of the infertility journey. I’m 36 weeks and still get nervous if baby doesn’t move for a period of time. I still wake up at night and can’t fall back asleep until I feel him move a little bit.
