2 1/2 year old suddenly sucking thumb?

Hey Mama’s, so my 2 1/2 year old has started sucking her thumb. She has NEVER sucked her thumb. So I’m confused as to why she suddenly is? I am currently 30 weeks pregnant, idk of this has something to do with it? But it’s becoming a habit that I’m trying to get her to break. Any ideas or suggestions?

I've noticed my son doing this too recently and he'll even sometimes put his whole hand in his mouth! He also recently sprouted some molars so I chalked it up to that.  I'm almost 19 weeks pregnant too and he's also been super clingy to me lately.  I'm thinking it's a combination of things and I also remind him he's a big boy and just reassure him. I'm hoping this phase passes soon and also for you.

My daughter has been sucking her thumb she does it when she gets nervous and tired. Best thing I found was to get a really good brand of waterproof bandaid and put it on their thumb if your still having trouble put on the bandaid and then take a dropper and drop a few drops of vinegar where the pad of the bandaid is

I know how you feel,  my 2 year old started doing things like that before I had my baby too. She started crying and asking for a bottle.... Even though she only drank one till she was 6mnths. Ithink her knowing her baby brother was almost here made her want to be a baby again. I reminded her how cool it is to be a big girl though.  Now that my son is almost a month old,  she has kind of gotten over it. I just let her know she will always be my baby and she is a great big sister.
