So for my boyfriend's birthday we enjoyed a lovely meal out together and a few drinks, I bought him a few presents like expensive shoes etc, not that it is about the cost but I knew it was something he would love, and after all that he is now angry that I didn't get him a birthday card! I have been busy with work and I know that isn't an excuse, but for my birthday recently I told him not to even bother with a card as sometimes I don't see the point spending money on them unless it's for a special birthday! He is 28 btw...but he's pretty mad that I've not got him a birthday card as he said it means something to him...

Am I in the wrong here and wrong for not 'making the effort' as he calls it or he is being out of order and ungrateful?

Currently sitting upstairs after having had an argument about this and don't want it ruining his birthday 😞😞
