Barely able to breastfeed
My son is 8 days old and I’m producing almost no milk. I’ve met with lactation twice and they’ve said I can continue to try pumping but it won’t get better and I need to use formula. My question is: I do produce 4-5 mL total every few hours. I spill it when I am done pumping because it’s just a few drops. What’s the best way to collect this small amount of milk? I can’t breastfeed due to a nipple problem (nipple shield is also not working). Should I keep pumping with the machine or maybe try a hand pump? I just want to give him as much milk as I’m able to.
