I guess it would depend. If I was having a difficult time with my child and that was said then yeah it would hurt my feelings. It would make me feel like my feelings weren’t valid or I wasn’t a good mom because he was a challenge to ME. But I’m also pretty sensitive 🤷🏻‍♀️

Well it depends on the age. For example when they're a newborn, it's often just the way the baby is. But for example when they are between 12 - 18 months, then the childs behaviour has also a lot to do with parenting. My daughter's niece is a handful, but I stayed/lived for around 3 weeks with them and I cringed a lot when I observed the way they parent (or lack of it). So honestly her misbehavior is kind of stimulated because of it. I spend a lot of time educating my daughter and disciplining her, so when it is said that she's easy, I do think that my hard work is kind of brushed off and that my tiredness is seen as unfounded. As if I have no right to complain I guess.

Everyone says that about our LO. I always take it as a compliment. 🤷‍♀️ (like it’s part his temperament, but also our parenting style)

Some of our family will say this about my daughter and I just laugh and tell them they don't have a clue. I have only left her with my mom twice for about 45 mins and both times were extremely difficult for her. When we are around lots of people there is much more to entertain her, so she's easier. When it's just me, it can be really hard. I do think it's kind of a rude comment personally. It makes light of your parenting struggles, but I don't need someone to tell me my job is hard. I know it is and I know I'm doing a good job. Children act differently when their mom is around also, so don't sweat it. Just keep being a good mom and try not to worry about what others think.
