Antidepressants,and BC?

Hi, I’ve recently been put on a low dose antidepressant, but I’m afraid to start birth control as I am not sure how they’d interact with each other on a chemical level. The birth control method I’d be using is the patch, and I am on the generic brand of Prozac I’m pretty sure. My question is would it be safe to take these two medications at the same time ?

I am on birth control and an antidepressant, and I've never had a problem before. Look it up; just type in "Can I take Prozac with [insert BC brand name here]?"

I was on Prozac and Sprintec for years without a problem.

Before I got pregnant I was on the pill and an antidepressant also and never had any bad side effects. It should be fine! 😊

I’m going to the doctor tomorrow I just wanted to know sooner I guess and get other people’s experiences.
