Thinking About the Implant????

Question

So I am currently on the pill and I use to be really good at taking it on time every day but lately I’ve just been so busy that I am forgetting more than I should. I have heard crazy stories about the implant. Is it still worth trying even thou it could go wrong?? I’m so consumed in what to do.

Its totally up to you if you want to get it or not. If you’re still undecided about it, do some research on it. I got mine earlier this month and i was super skeptical because of the stories ive heard. But, it wasnt anything like i imagined. Everyones body reacts differently to it. Just look more into it and see if its a better choice then taking the pills, and if sounds like something thatd be a better option then I say do it. 
My implant stopped my periods and helped with crazy cramps i would get. Since getting it ive definitely had a higher metabolism but who knows, maybe its not a result if getting the implant. But in my opinion i think its better than the pill just because i could never remember taking my pills. You just have to make sure to take care of it when you first get it inserted and follow all the instructions the doctor gives you. Best of luck!

I switched to the implant this month because I was becoming terrible at taking the pill at the same time and I started feeling horrible all the time. I started feeling lightheaded, everything kept me in a horrible mood, I was pissed all the time and it sucked. However, it did help me regulate and it helped a lot with my PMS.
I’m almost 3 weeks into my first implant and I’m so in love with it so far. I haven’t gotten a period yet, my hair is not falling as much as it used to while on the pill, less of an appetite and less cravings. I wake up in such a great mood now and it takes a lot to get me mad, my moods have stabilized and I feel amazing. I do get minor headaches, but not the ones that are strong, they’re minor and they only last a couple of minutes and they’re gone. But other than that, I feel great.
Just keep in mind that not everyone has the best or the worst experience ever, birth control is about finding something YOU feel comfortable with wearing/taking/getting done and something that makes YOU feel better about yourself and not put you in a worse situation. You won’t know until you try it!

I got mine last February and one of my friends told me how bad hers went the day after I got mine in! I was so freaked out for weeks. But honestly, just take care of it and keep it clean (Do EXACTLY what they tell you to!) and everything should be just fine. It’s kind of difficult to shower and not wet it every day bc you have to wrap it but besides that everything will be okay as long as you don’t exercise with it for a little.

I’m on my 4th implant, it stops my periods. Never had an issues with it. It doesn’t suit everyone though, my friend had no stop bleeding and spotting when she got hers and ended up getting it taken out after a few months

When you first get it, you may not notice but everyone else will, you will be emotional most likely because of so many hormones from the implant produced. I was mad and would flip out and then cry in my room for like and hour. I done that twice but then my body got used to it and I calmed down a lot. They say it may mess with your emotions and I felt sad for a few days but after a little while you can’t even tell you have it! I think it is a great option!
