Is this preterm labor ?!

Question

Yesterday I went to the hospital they found I was having contractions 2 to 3 minutes apart and dilated 1 cm. I called today ( a bit embarrassed cuz I dont want to be a pain or to eager) cuz I had about 10 contraction in an hour and I think I just lost my mucus plug. Should I be concerned is this a reason to go to the hospital again? Cuz why did they discharge me if the contractions never spaced out but I didnt dilated any further.
Update: the day I went to the hospital was the 21 the 22 I kept having the same symptoms. I was feeling a bit better the rest of the days but today I think I have the contractions again cuz for hours my stomach has been hard and for the past 2 days I've been taking tums cuz I've gotten so nauseous & headaches ☹

I had irregular contractions for 60 hours with my second. Stayed at home for as long as poss (walking / playing with our 1yr old / going to get coffee etc), finally went to the birthing centre to get checked (even though they previously told me they would not admit me as my contractions were so irregular), I was at 7cm. The check caused my waters to break & our son arrived 1hr later, after 8mins of pushing. So you could be dilating - irregular contractions don't mean you're not in labour, or that you're not progressing. Good luck!

Did they give you anything to slow down labor? If you’re not past 36 weeks I’m pretty sure it protocol. If not I’d go back to L&D if I was still feeling contractions.

You can be having plenty of contractions, but if you aren't progressing or dilating more, then you aren't in labor. I had some serious back labor last Sunday and L&D sent me home after I spent three hours there because I wasn't dilating. I'm dilated 3 cm, but I didn't progress past that, even with an hour of walking and drinking plenty of water. So they'll only keep you if there is active change.

How far along you? No losing your mucus plug does not mean you need to go the hospital. If you are full term then I wouldn’t go in until your contractions are 5 minutes or less and lasting a minute or longer.
