I went for my 39w appointment and got my cervix checked, I was 2-3cm dialated she didnt tell me my effacement. I lost a small piece of my plug last night before I went to bed (I've been losing small peices for about 3 weeks) it was larger then what I've lost in the past and had some dark brown blood in it, but I didnt think anything of it. I got up this morning with my SO to get him ready for work, after he left at 6am I laid back down around 730am and i felt 'wet' but i figured it was just discharge. I got back up at 12pm and went to the bathroom and when I wiped it was nothing but clear mucus with the dark brown blood, I have to use more Tp then normal just to get dry. Now every time I go to the bathroom I'm still losing plug but it's much darker and no longer clear. My back hurts and I've had some contractions but my midwife told me losing my plug meant nothing since it can regenerate and basically not to call unless I'm having consistent contractions, my water breaks or I'm bleeding like a period. My due date is in 4 days and I go back to the doctors tomorrow but what are my chances of going into labor before then? I'm a FTM and I know that there is a slim chance my water will actually break, or that I wont go over my due date. I just want some hope that there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
