Hi everyone -

So, I had the Skyla IUD placed back in mid June of this year. The first 3-4 months the amount of bleeding I had was normal: once a month with some light spotting in between.

However, ever since mid November I’ve had a period (normal bleeding, not spotting) literally every other week. I’ll have a period. It stops for 7 days and then I get another. I just started one again today after having the last one end on the 19th.

I know that irregular bleeding is normal for the first 3-6 months, but I’m past that time frame and this weird bleeding didn’t start until I hit the 6 month mark.

Has anyone dealt with something similar? Did you eventually have the IUD removed? My Gyno suggested I take regular birth control on top of the IUD for two months to stop the excessive bleeding but I haven’t started it yet as I’m afraid I’ll have some weird reaction to that too...so yeah, any advice or comments would be really appreciated.
