What you name your baby

I just read a story about a woman who was denied a job because of her name "Hermisha" its a mix of her parents name. The company said we dont want people with ghetto names.Do you guys ever worry about your kids getting jobs or being bullied or the fact that you just like the name is most important.

I think that when I see a lot of names people choose on here. Theyre ridiculous names and the parents are more concerned with being unique than the child’s well being

First off thats illegal. I highly doubt any employer said such a thing. I work in HR and we have never ever passed over any resume due to their name.

While I do think it’s not fair to judge someone by their name, I believe whole heartedly that parents are 100% responsible for the projection that might come from what they name their kids. I wish parents took into consideration their kid’s futures before they handed them stupid names. Really. Some of the things people name their children these days are just absurd.

Both my children have unique names but I'm not worried about either of them getting a job. I think as long as they work hard at school and get good grades they should be able to do whatever job they want.

A name doesn't define you, you define the name. I do want to make sure the name I choose has a great nickname as well as something to use professionally.
