The Patch or The Implant?

Question

Does anybody have experience with one or the other?  Good/bad experiences?  I want to change my birth control (currently on the pill) and I was thinking of getting the implant because it's very effective but I'm afraid of it because of the needle so I was thinking the patch. Any and all opinions and experiences are welcome and encouraged!

I had the Mirana and it was awful... I was fine at first with it, experienced the norm aka cramps and spotting for a few months. Fast forward about a year and I was soooo fatigued and my back hurt CONSTANTLY. I even went in and had it checked to make sure it was still properly placed. Continued having problems and it got to the point I was just miserable. I’m vegan, I’m active and overall take really good care of myself but once I found out I wasn’t the only one experiencing these issues, I freaked and had it removed. If you think about it, our bodies arent built/equipped/made to have foreign objects placed inside us -so no wonder I struggled. I do not recommend the Mirana. Even the newer versions, I wouldn’t count on those either. Hope this helps!

I have the implant, always had a great experience. Rarely experience side effects. My best friend has the patch. She loves it as well. She’s only made complaints about weight gain and changing the patch. (Sometimes she forgets and recently she needed a refill but it wouldn’t come in time for her trip so she had to pay like $200+ for some patches).

I did not felt a thing during the implant do to all the medication, but I am afraid of the pain when is time to take it out... 😵😣

I’ve been on the patch for years. I place it on my butt cheek. It’s been the best thing.  To take the pills and the depo shot. 
The pro is I don’t have any side affects.and it’s hidden on my butt cheek. An I know exactly when my period comes. The last Wednesday of every month. 
The con is it’s on my butt cheek lol.
