I’m 20, I live with my parents, who dislike my now fiancé for things we have worked past and grown to accept. He still apologizes multiple times for the things he’s done to hurt me.

However, tonight as I walked back to the car (mom picked me up, we’d taken a walk) she accused me of sneaking around and was mad I didn’t pick up the phone. On the way home I got the lecture of everything bad is my fault, and I need to start acting like an adult and stop sneaking around, as well as was threatened twice of physical violence.

I just want to tell them. My dad isn’t fond of him either but I’ve always been closer to my dad than my mom. Can anyone give me advice to break the news? I already told my fiancé to start working on gaining her respect and trust back. Anything else? (PS: the ring is on and I’m not going to take it off when I’m around her.)
