Is it normal to to be screaming during contractions??

My contractions while in labor were so bad I was breathing fast and groaning (pretty much screaming) and my nurse had the nerve to with a huge attitude tell me I need to calm down right now. Am I a big baby or was my nurse just a b**ch??

Well screaming is expending more energy so i think she meant it in a helpful way but she could’ve been kinder. Typically women don’t scream until they’re pushing, not with each contraction.

I felt sorry for everyone else on the birthing suite the day I had my baby. Yes I screamed. And I would of screamed even louder if anyone had told me to shutup 😂

I screamed and I heard many other women screaming as well. But my nurse did tell me to channel my screaming into pushing which was very helpful!

I was in so much pain during my contractions I couldn’t talk to anyone. I threw up at least four times from PAIN. I don’t think I screamed but I was moaning through the pain. I wasn’t induced but they did give me ovidrel which I think can make them feel worse. Labor pain is literally the worst pain I felt in my life. Maybe she needed you to calm down in the sense that your heart rate was getting to high or something?

i didnt have any medicine and i was groaning a bit towards the end, the nurse put her head against mine and basically taught me how to breathe through them because you waste too much energy screaming and making noise, she meant well, but did not word it right

While i was in the hospital being induced, I heard one woman have her baby next door and it was horrific. Then after I had my son before we switched over to mother baby unit I heard another woman come in next door screaming and cussing and it was too late for an epidural. She was losing her mind and cussing staff out. I know it hurts but it wasn’t their fault. I think screaming is normal and acceptable but to an extent.
