Gender selection for IVF?

Is that true that you can select gender during your IVF screening process?

Only if you pay extra for pgs testing

You can find out the gender when they do PGS testing but most places won’t let you actually choose which gender embryo they transfer unless 1.) they’re avoiding a severe genetic problem only present in one gender or 2.) you make the case for “gender balancing” (I.e. you have two daughters already and would like a son now). I’m sure there are some places that will let you choose with no reason at all but the two I’ve been to would not.

We did PGS & could find our the gender. We didn’t want to choose & told them to pick the healthiest one. We’re now 7w3d with a boy.

I’m uncomfortable with calling it “gender selection” I like to think that finding out the gender is coincidental to PGS testing rather than the goal.
