Tips for getting through fresh IUD Pain ?

So yesterday I got a copper coil fitted and I'm currently having bad cramps from it. Yesterday felt like nothing compared to today. I was wondering what got you through the initial pain?

600-800 mg ibuprofen every 6 hours, with food. Don't do this for more than 5 days though

I took a lot of ibuprofen! It was extremely painful for me nonstop for about the first week and on and off for a few months, but ibuprofen and heating pads helped. They make a disposable menstrual heating pad that you can wear for 8 hours at a time that you can buy in drugstores/grocery stores in the US. Those were my lifesavers for the first few months! Also backrubs from your SO (if you have one) help too 😉

For the first two weeks I took about 14 ibuprofen a day, used a heating pad every second I could as for the first few days, a shot or two of liquor helped me immensely
