Holiday if pregnant??

Question

So hubby & I are wanting to book a holiday for next year. Only Spain or somewhere, but will involve flying. We are TTC, and even if I were to have fallen pregnant this cycle (still in my TWW), I would be a maximum of 7 months pregnant when we go. My question is, is it safe to fly/ go on holiday when you’re that pregnant? I literally have no clue! TIA & lots of baby dust x

Generally airlines don’t let you fly after 26-30 weeks. Depends on the airline. Some been require a doctors note.

I’ve heard it’s unsafe in the third trimester.  And no airline will let you on then.  My cousin was pregnant and during the third trimester they wouldn’t allow her on the plane.  Second trimester though I’ve heard is perfectly safe and many pl do it.  ESP on such a long flight I wouldn’t want to go during the third trimester even if they let you.  I mean where would they land if your over ocean and you go into labor.

Buy travel insurance just in case you need to cancel. Most OBs are okay with you flying into your third trimester as long as you and baby have been healthy until then. Never hurts to have a backup plan though if things don’t go the way you expect them to. Best of luck!

I flew to northern Ireland at 33+4, however I was right on the cut off point! That was with flybe and I got a note from my midwife to fly. You should be fine, just ensure you check with the airline and with your doctor that you are good to fly. Maybe book closer to the time, then you will know how you feel etc. I would hate to have booked a holiday well in advance and then not feel up to it ☹

I flew from germany to the US 13 hour flight at 33 weeks pregnant no issues

My doctor said up to 35 weeks is OK as long as you are healthy and having a low risk pregnancy, and your flight is less than 10 hours AND you get up and walk around the isle every 1-1.5 hours to keep the blood flowing in your legs. I took a short flight at 33 weeks, and I was ok, but MAJORLY uncomfortable and my flight was only 3 hours.
