Do men tip more or women tip more?

In your experience do men tend to tip more at a restaurants or women tend to tip more?

I think it depends on the person not the gender... I tip more than my husband, but my best friends husband tips more than her 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’ve been a server for around 4 years and gender plays no role really, just like in everything some women and men are really generous, and others aren’t

🙄 well as a former hair stylist that worked in mainly high end spa like salons, I can say that on average older women (30+) tipped higher than younger women (21 and under) my male clients varied while some younger (21 and under) ones tipped as well as my older female clients and some of my older male clients (30+) tipped worse than my younger female clients.. I don't think it has much to do with gender as much as it has to do with their backgrounds. Typically, I'll tip 20%-30% of an over all bill and my husband is the same unless we both agree the service was terrible but he will still tip at least 15% while I'm more inclined to tip 5%-10% for bad service.. and it has to be really bad service and specifically based off of the server.. not the kitchen. Like for example one time my husband and I went to mellow mushroom (a chain pizza place) and our waitress in the middle of me ordering told me to "shut up" while giving her my order when I asked her to make sure there was no cheese on the salad and I wanted my dressing on the side she was like "that sounds retarded.. you're a a pizza place for god sakes" my husband and I just looked at each other like...wtf just happened here.. she came back with our salads after like 40 minutes of sitting there and mine had cheese on it and no dressing, I told her to just take it back since I didn't want to wait for another salad to come.. she was like.. "well I'm still charging you for the salad so you may as well keep it" then my husband asked for the bill and to speak to a manager, she brought us the bill and told us the manager wasn't there.. he paid and tipped her 15%.. Because that's just how he is.. but we got to the front and talked to the hostess and she led us to the manager which he then gave an earful to about our waitress. We obviously haven't been back. Not my problem 🤷 lol
