So almost 2 years ago, my best friend and I started hanging out with these new guys. We partied together a lot and hung out and went camping and did all the stupid things teenagers do. We got REALLY close to each other. Well.. my best friend and one of the guys started dating. It was always low key because in my small town, people would’ve judged them hard for dating because he’s more of a redneck and she’s a top student and all that.

So they broke up over a year ago, but of course we still see each other because.. i mean, small town 🤷🏽‍♀️ Her ex texted me and asked to hang out over Thanksgiving break. So we hung out (with 2 other friends). We stayed the night together and had a little fun (did NOT do the big thing). And since then, we’ve hung out a few times each week. My best friend knows we’ve hung out (most of the time), but she doesn’t suspect we’re anything more than friends, like we always have been. But she always makes comment about girls trying to get with him and it annoys/upsets her. But... I’m that girl. And she doesn’t know it.

What do I do? I don’t want to keep it from her any more but I also don’t want to stop talking to him because I mean, it was over a year ago...

It’s also important to note that we’ve just kind of drifted apart naturally because of different activities and things that occupy our time. So it’s not like she’s my absolute best friend that i do everything with. Just been friends since we were 5.
