I love my in laws but the water at their house tastes AWFUL. It’s like rusty or something and it even makes the sinks turn orange. They refill gallon jugs of water at the grocery store for drinking water but all the water from faucets smells like iron or rust — brushing my teeth, washing my face, taking a shower, rinsing dishes.

My husband has talked to them about getting a reverse osmosis system (or whatever will fix it) and has even offered to pay for it but they say it’s not a big deal. It’s like I’m in the twilight zone because I have NO CLUE how anyone could deal with that!

We don’t visit for more than 2 days at a time (so I don’t have to shower), but what happens if I have a kid? How would I wash my hands after changing diapers or wash my kids face off or ask them to brush their teeth? (I’m also kind of OCD when it comes to my bathroom routine so maybe it upsets me more than it should.)

Does anyone know what I should do?
