Mothers to only one child do you regret not having more?

Im really trying to decide if i want another baby or not. My son is 20 months and if i have another i would want to start trying when he turns two, but im kinda undecided if i even want another.. kinda just want one. (I wanted 3 before i had my son) lol

My mom says you should never have just one child because when the parents are gone, the child has no one else to share the memories of them with. That hit home to me because I have 3 siblings (had 4 and one passed in November) but when my parents are gone I’m going to need my siblings more than anyone else.

I am an only child and have always been fine with it. My kiddo may end up being an only child as I do not want to have babies over 35 due to my health history.

My kid will be an only child. My husband made it extremely clear he didn't want more and I'm actually pretty okay with the idea. I have mental health issues and PPD was terrible for me.  I know tons of people who are the only child and they never minded it.  I've gotten a lot of remarks on how selfish we are to only have one kid, but in reality I don't care.  Because I'm the one taking care of my family,  not them.

Only have one and I have days when I want to be one-and-done. My interest in having another is really more like, to gift my son with a friend because of my love for him... not because myself or my husband truly want that second child or we feel unfulfilled. Is that a good reason? I certainly don’t think so.

I want another kid when my daughter is 10, which is in 10 years lol im definitely not done. I was the only child and I know the struggle

Well, our daughter is only 14 months so of course we do not regret not having another child right now lol.🤷🏾‍♀️ However, we do plan to have another when she is about three or four. I am the only child my parents have and my husband is the only child his parents have so we want something different for our daughter. My parents say they wanted more, but chose not to because of my father's career as a physician. I guess they figured one child was enough. I have no idea why my in-laws did not have more. Maybe it was for career reasons, maybe it was something else. 🤷🏾‍♀️ My husband and I decided we want two children. I had a great childhood and so did my husband, however we still want our daughter to have a sibling.

I was an only child and it’s a huge burden for a kid growing up. I would never make mine an only if I could help it.

After I had our daughter I was hell bent on no more kids, got on birth control. When she started school it was hard for me, although she loves it and it made me want another child. So we have been trying for our second child for 3 years now and still no luck yet. Our daughter was a surprise pull out method baby and now I can't get pregnant for the life of me.
