9 month old table food???

I've been giving my baby "table food" since she was 8 months old. Her grandparents keep telling me it is going to mess up her stomach and she needs to do pureé food only!!! I can't find anything to support that! Help!

My children have always eaten table food. In fact we would partially chew bits of meat so they could gum them and eat without choking. Baby food is disgusting. Have you smelled it, let alone tasted it. 🤮 if it doesnt smell like something I'd want to eat then my kids arent going to be eating it.

Babes can have table food at 6 months! It’s called baby led weaning and is now thought to be better then purées

She’s definitely old enough for table food at that age, that was about when my daughter started eating what we ate (within reason) too. Lots of baby led weaning sites will provide good info on this as baby led weaning avoids using purées all together

look up baby led weaning. A lot of people do it and there are some good reasons. Nothing wrong with purées either it’s just whatever you’re comfortable with. But there’s no reason to stay away from appropriate table foods.

They’re completely wrong. Bottom line. 
Everything most grandparents think about how to raise kids pretty much comes from what they knew about when they were raising kids. So much has changed since then that you really can’t rely on any of that old advice anymore. Just know that there’s no science behind what they’re saying and you’re kid will be fine.

We’ve done it since 6 months and she’s 9 1/2 months now

My baby’s doctor said we could give her chicken....lmao I was like I’m gonna go buy her some fried chicken now😂 baby is totally fine. They love trying new food.
