Dog bite and fake nail...

My dog bit my finger yesterday, which I'm completely to blame for since I was the dummy who stuck my finger in there in the first place. He punctured the side of my finger, which didn't bleed much. The problem is that I have fake nails on, the cheap kind you do yourself, and I think he punctured under the nail through my real nail, it was bleeding pretty steadily until some time over night.

Does anyone have any ideas how I can get the fake nail off, with minimal pain?
