Membranes stripped???

Question

My doctor mentioned stripping my membranes at 38weeks if I wanted. For those of you who have had this done, does it hurt?

I also got my membrane stripped at 38 weeks. I wasn’t worried about the pain until I was reading people on here saying they couldn’t move the rest of the day etc. Everyone has a different pain tolerance but my Dr. did it in conjunction with my cervix check it was about 4 swipes side to side and lasted maybe 30 seconds. 
The best way I can describe it is someone not knowing how to finger you and going deep. 
I had no pain afterwards it’s just uncomfortable during but let’s be honest childbirth isn’t going to be sunshine and rainbows so it’s worth a shot.

VERY uncomfortable! I was crawling up the table! However, it worked and I had the baby the same day. I don’t think I’ll do it again 😳

I had two done by two different doctors with my first baby. The first one was uncomfortable but didn’t feel like much but I lost my mucus plug from it. The second one, hurt like hell. I felt like I was possessed on the table lol. My face went red, I got hot & tried climbing up the bed away from her along with arching my back and my husband was asking me if I was ok the whole time. Needless to say that one put me into labor less than two days later. She told me if it was going to work, it would be within 48 hours. Yup, she was right!

Definitely depends on the dr, how dialated you are and how soft the cervix is.

I think it depends on the doctor and how dilated you are. I had one done today and it didn’t hurt to me, a little uncomfortable but no pain! I was 2.5cm dilated when he did it.
